October at our East London Studio
Adjusting to colder days is never easy! However, at least if the sun’s shining we can enjoy crisp Autumnal walks. Here at First Option Studio we were even treated to a country cottage feel as Country Homes and Interiors styled the studio with a wonderful rustic feel.
It has been a busy last few months. the daylight may be getting shorter but days of filming seem to be getting longer! Last week I-Factory productions flew their presenter in all the way from Ghana to film here for Africa Live. They invited various celebrities to cook a dish in our kitchen which will then be aired on Sky television and all across South Africa. Amongst the many things they made, their plantain was like no other!
In fact we have seen quite a few chefs pass through the doors recently. It was with great pleasure to have both Nigel Slater and Aldo Zilli returning to shoot with us again. We were also pleased to meet Paul Hollywood, a baker who has become a household name after being the frontman for ‘The Great British Bake-Off’ series. This time he was at First Option with Heat Magazine for a photo-shoot.You can see exclusive interviews with him and some of our other guests on our Utube channel.
The studio was a landscape of techni-colour as the make-up line, Bourjois made use of the space in it’s full glory. They created a ‘behind the scenes’ Parisian fashion shoot to film a range of their products.
It seems our friends from ‘Total’ at Fage productions don’t just tell us what to cook, they also show us how to dance! Check out the short films they shot in the studio on Utube. Step by step demonstrations from the jive to the rhumba ensure us all a fun way to keep moving!
Having just got used to the signs of Autumn, in the world of advertising, preparations for Christmas are well under way! Lakeland spent two long days with us filming products in time for their Christmas shopping channel. At this very moment the smell of fruit cake fills the air as Waitrose shoot for their Christmas magazine edition. The kitchen is decked out with fairy lights and silver branches certainly providing us with a warming atmosphere.
Please see our ‘ Coming Soon’ section for our own festive offerings.
